Meet Our Team

Dr. James McAnulty

( Principal Dentist )

James is a Maitland local, finishing high school at All Saints College and playing basketball for the Maitland Mustangs. After completing his degree at the University of Queensland he returned home to begin his career and work alongside his father Chris. He has a keen commitment to preventive and minimally invasive dentistry. When he is not at work you will find James enjoying the outdoors with his wife Taylor or out on the golf course.

Dr. Chris McAnulty

( Dentist )

Dr Chris McAnulty has worked in the Maitland community for more than twenty years. He has a wide knowledge and experience in all facets of general dentistry including implants. He genuinely cares for his patients and believes that getting to know an individual's needs is the best way to maintain their dental health in the long term. He also has an active interest in local history – try him!

Dr. Nicole Zhao

( Dentist )

Born and raised in Canberra, Nicole has always had an interest in healthcare. She completed her degree in Orange NSW where she discovered the pleasure in servicing small tight-knit communities. Nicole is passionate about making dentistry as comfortable and anxiety-free as possible for everyone. Outside the clinic, she enjoys beach days, walks with her dog and cooking up a feast in the kitchen.

Krystal West

( Dental Hygienist )

Krystal is originally from Portland, Victoria and completed the Bachelor of Oral Health at The University of Adelaide. She has worked in public, specialist and general private dental practices in Adelaide, Melbourne and Darwin. Krystal has been with the team at Maitland Dental Care since 2014. She is passionate about prevention of dental disease and regularly attends professional development training. In her spare time, you’ll find her quilting, hitting golf balls and spending time with her family.

Micarla Runchel

( Oral Health Therapist )

Carla was born and bred in the Maitland community and is the proud mother to three beautiful children. Carla has been dedicated to working within the dental industry since 2003. With a strong passion for the profession she completed a Bachelor of Oral Health followed by Post Graduate studies in Dental therapy obtaining Child and Adult Scope of practice. With a love for learning Carla continued studies obtaining a Graduate Certificate in Autism Studies to support her neurodiverse patients within the Dental setting. Carla is extremely enthusiastic and enjoys providing oral health care with a preventive maintenance focus.

Rebecca Hunter

( Practice Manager )

Rebecca is a Maitland native and she is part of a strong community focused family. After completing high school at Maitland Grossman, she began working in the dental industry. Her career has spanned over 24 years, 17 of which have been with Maitland Dental Care, where she started as a dental assistant and then has progressed to practice manager. When she is not at work you will find Rebecca running her own business, spending quality time with her husband and daughter or camping with family and friends.
